Garden Walk: Notable Trees of Wave Hil ;1-2:30 PMfree with admission
Wave Hill’s landscape includes magnificent old trees, rare species and native beauties. Wander through the gardens on this special walk with Director of Horticulture Louis Bauer to see some of his favorites from the living collection.

In The Shop: Woodturning Demonstration with Artisan Chris Busak 10am to 4:30, free with admission
In-store artisan Chris Busak will perform an informal woodturning demonstration in The Shop’s courtyard, and present a selection of his hand-turned, wooden bowls.

Sunday, April 30

Art-Making Workshop: Woodgrain Prints and Monoprints, 10am to 1 pm $55/$45
In this printmaking workshop with artist Wennie Huang, combine monoprint methods with direct printing from cut-wood sections to create works in ink, mixed media and/or text. Ages 12 and up welcome with an adult.

Family Art Project: Barking Up a Wave Hill Tree, 10am, free with admission to grounds
With wax crayons and paper in hand, visit some of Wave Hill’s treasured trees and have a tactile experience through observation, touch, and simple, but rich, bark rubbings. Using these rubbings, work with burlap, cheesecloth, strips of leather, craft paper and yarn to create a collection of rich textures and bark-inspired designs.

Junior Arborist Station,11 AM-3 PM Free with paid admission.
Kids ages five and up are invited to don tree-climbing harnesses and hardhats and ascend into the canopy of our old sugar maple tree to get a birds-eye view of Wave Hill. On hand to assist budding arborists, as well as answer questions about the big old trees at Wave Hill, will be arborists from Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care." mommypoppins.com
